Well this is perfect so far. Sitting in the garden having a beer and watching the light show. No rain and only a couple of distant rumbles of thunder but my word, lightning every few seconds.

Looks like the BBC forecst for further west of rain with the odd rumble is correct. Does look like the real action is for the Sussex/Kent coastal areas.

A look at the 12z ECM CAPE for midnight shows why the lightning seems to be staying mostly over the East English Channel and pushing NNE toward the areas to east of IoW, this is where the instability is

Well that's a first.. just had a jumbo jet fly super low.. heard the roaring thinking whats that.. heading straight into that storm! :O

This lot is moving incredibly slowly. Wondering if it'll be dead if it ever gets here at all.

cannot beleive anyone would be stupid / brave depending on your point of view to fly into that
