At Brighton and it's all dying off quite a bit. Yes lightning every 2-3 mins but in my book that makes it thundery rain. All the high frequency strikes are stuck in the channel. I call it game over for tonight

How can it be a Kent Clipper when we've had a half decent thunder & lightning show, here in Dorset?

Because most of the storms are moving towards there

Screen grab from video...storm here 6/10 so far. Frequent lightning and increasingly close thunder

Definitely a Kent clipper. Further inland than usual though so will keep an ear out. Not sure if I just heard a rumble or not. If so, it was a very long way off.

Kent Clipper  ?    It's been a constant strobing light show here in East Sussex for at least an hour with some very close c/g strikes and shotgun thunder.

Got some decent photos I think - had to retire inside due to the rain. Had some close ground rattling CGs...somewhat disappointed more hasn't fired further west!!

Big strike directly south of me now with distant thunder.

it does seem to me though the heavy rain has cooled things off a tad. Which may explain lack of convection I.E lightning and thunder.

Big flash of lightning here with thunder. Pouring rain for a good 45 minutes now.

Calling it a night here as all we're getting is the odd rumble and flash. Thundery rain. Deep joy. Happy stormwatching and if it does perk up a bit here I'll be back.
