Nothing in Coventry so far, but then, I wasn't expecting anything. Bit of a bright flash a moment ago, but I think that was a passing lorry :p

Kent clipper or not, count yourselves lucky down there on the south coast! :)

Well it was shortlived and what a night to be watching it come across the Channel and arrive - 6/10 Great start to the stormy season

Must have been a spectacular evening for anybody spending the Bank Holiday on the Sussex coast!

Slightly closer rumble then. Nothing being picked up though

This is unreal - literally flashing every second or two. It's a proper electrical storm by any definition of the word.

Even if not everyone has witnessed the storms over the weekend, it has been like you said a very good start. Hopefully this could be a sign for a good storm season to come over the next 3 months?

Absolutely none are showing up on lightning radars though. Think I'm getting the odd rumble from that.

Same here, the last good storm for me was near Lincoln July 2015 which was incredible, I hope we get something like that in the area again, last year was poor as they all avoided us lol. And so far I've missed out on these ones.

I still look back on 2015 with great fondness! Only two actual events but they were pretty good! Hey ho, looks like the forecast was a bit off for the east of England. Definitely going to bed now....

Yeah, I still remember how you could see lightning with no thunder at all as it crept up

We are parked at a very wet and windy Beachy head. Still lots of lightning and crawlers filling the sky. What a night!!

I hope someone else is seeing this - tried to capture some video although not sure all the lightning has come out in it. The lightning in this competes with the supercells I have seen in the US, unbelievable showing. So so so pleased I decided to put family first and headed to the coast. Would have been gutted had I missed this.

I've seen a few flashes and heard a few rumbles, but nothing like what you've described

Absolutely nothing here, not even distant lightning. Just some moderate rain.
