Pretty impressive since 10pm on the SE coast.some stunning fork lightning, reasonable rumbles,nothing overhead so far.frequency of lightning best between 1030 and 1130. 5/10 so far

Although obviously those living on the south coast are seeing something, which is inevitable. Tonight, however, has largely been a bust.

 Hearing some extremely long sferics about one every 90 seconds, a lot closer than the main background of the MCS

We have driven from Swindon to Brighton and are continuing towards Beachy head where we will stop. Loads of Lightning and torrential rain!!

There was a document going around with the lack of imports and MCS into the Southern UK the last 20 years or so.

Somebody will have the link.

Just goes to show it always comes down to now casting. Really this is quite different to what was showing just this morning on many models. AROME was probably the closest in my opinion.

Stark difference in precip forecast from 18z and actual....

Thunder rumbling so deep and long now i can feel it through the ground sitting on my door step! Some awesome bolt lightening too, worth being up for at nearly 1am.
