I do enjoy nights like this. The forum is a hive of activity, there's a storm potential, and a general air of 'will we, won't we'

I know, I'm odd.

I love it here on storm nights and snow nights! :)

This is my thinking. I would be peeing myself in excitement if I was in Brighton right now!

I am in Brighton and can confirm I am peeing myself in excitement. Heading to the beach shortly!

Some sparse lightning starting to strike in the batch to the West of the main storm now - Areas further West could see something too!

Nothing wrong with that!

Funny thing is I don't like the storms but I love the excitement on here, the photography that can sometimes come out of an event like this... and all the updating on where the action is, even if in my case it serves as a warning to go into bat mode and hide under a duvet with headphones on and the world hopefully off. (I'm autistic, and find loud noises and flashing light overwhelming most of the time. Unpredictability makes them worse, so storm tracking really helps me!)

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
