Quite a surprising NE movement given the ESE airflow. Perhaps that's aiding the system to split.

The vast majority of the Sferic activity has now ceased for the cells west of Jersey. The precip here is turning messy and I'm thinking of looking for the wine opposed to the car keys. Can't see anything further west any Pompey probably Brighton.

Saw a lot of that during the early hours of Saturday,. only to be replaced by more storms.

Yep, just starting raining here in West Dorset. I'm still hopeful something will happen just not sure to what extent.

But that precip is primarily outside that axis of the main plume, nocturnal cooling could aid but radar presentation looks messy and in a decaying state.

I'm thinking the plume is travelling too much to ENE for my location.

I'm more East Preston way and can see pink lightning out in the channel.

Normally if we're going to get a storm we get some Altocumulus Castellanus preceding the main event.

I've just brought the dog out and seen this.

This must surely be the weakest and most disorganised formation I've ever seen!!:nea:

Ahh well, fingers crossed. :bomb::pardon:

Where can one find a map showing where the necessary plume is?

I'm now starting to pick up lightning strikes at 24 - 40 miles.

So much for an early night. I have radar and lightning detector tabs open all over the place - Absolutely love plume situations like this!
