Distant but regular rumbles now, got to say I'm not convinced that it will hop the channel into the SE. Seems to be running out of steam. Fingers crossed though, some lovely clouds.

It'll be interesting to see if the decaying cells manage to spark something else off ahead of the line. We had  a good few hours of sunshine here and its still feeling muggy.

That's what I'm thinking or lining up with those already existing cells over SW London!

From what I can see that line of showers (squall line?) is still putting up AC towers as it comes closer. I've limited knowledge on the subject but I can only assume that is a good sign!

Convective drizzle here... To my west some very lower towering clouds beginning to look very promising.

Take a look at sat24.com The show a nice clearance before the channel muck and a few clouds popping up nicely. Tops starting to come into sight now. They look quite impressive. i suspect they will pass to the west of me however i have a great view facing west.

So, on the way home I came out the south side of the blackwall tunnel and low and behold I could see those cloud tops you were talking about.  Watched the muck over london getting further and further away in the rear view mirror which was a good feeling having been stuck under it all day.

Radar now showing a wide band of cells leaving france which at the moment (I say with caution) is headed this way. Electrical activity from this band has ceased a short time ago but could it pick up some warm, moist air from the channel and re-energise? Could it be I actually get my evening storm? Lets see...

A cell has popped up on radar heading straight for me. Hopefully will mature enough before it arrives

Very spotty hefty showers here with some lightning strikes just offshore over the mumbles

Yeah, that squall line leaving france is looking more and more promising. Kent and SE London could still see some action yet.
