Was sunny and warm here about an hour ago, with these unstable skies, but now cloud has covered the sky, dunno whether that's a good thing or bad thing.

Feeling very warm indeed now. No thermometer so I cant tell you the exact temperature but feels warm and muggy.

View to the south...

Fingers crossed for later this evening.

Humidity on the rise. A dark cloud just passed over and I think a shower was beginning to form as we had about 10-20 very large drops before it moved away. Now very dark to the north with the sun coming out again.

Anyone else feel a degree of trepidation when waiting for the radar to load in case sferics have popped up for someone else?

Lol. I've got lightningmaps on in the background with the sound turned on while I work so hopefully I should hear any clicks go off and can check if they're near me (in a room with no windows at the moment so can't exactly check whats happening out the window!)!

Getting very humid outside in MK. Been playing snooker this morning, popped out of the club for a smoke and a shower dropped some large raindrops accompanied by the classic petrichor smell. Eye's to the SW around Wilts, Somerset area as hefty showers are forming there and moving NNW. I'm hoping for something this evening and overnight elevated in nature drifting north from the channel.

Had Massive Drops from the shower passing over Tiverton, Devon from a rapidly developing shower!

Interesting though as there has been little if any sunshine here at all.

Don't forget if you have an AM radio lying around you can use that to listen to sferics. You can ascertain rough distance from that as well.

Showers developing just to the north of here. Looks like we're breaking them for areas further north at the moment.

Showers forming even though cloudy, is likely to be the higher ground, Quantock hills and Exmoor forcing development.

Perhaps, yet the cell that went overhead here developed on the Leeward side of Dartmoor.

Very good tip, although I must admit I do find it hard to distinguish the sparks from the other background noise. Even the aurora borealis shows up on AM as well. Think I need more practice!

Now got a largish looking cell to my south. Doesn't look too heavy/menacing on radar yet. Its about 10 miles away at a guess. Can just about see it through the clearing milk. Would take a picture but its not going to be distinguishable at the moment due to the amount of milk/haze that's still hanging around from this morning (I can barely see it with my own eyes, let alone on a phone camera!).

In the past hour the sky has gone dark/cloudy to my south... I'll try and get a pic.

... Doesn't feel as humid though.
