Crikey it's rough out there even though we are down in a bit of a valley

All trains to and from Liverpool CANCELLED. This is due to the failure of the electricity supply.

UAE17 should be fun landing with the winds, and there's still 7 more in the hold behind that. AA was still on the ground some 20min ago with the captain unwilling to take-off due to the crosswind variable.

a real scary moment driving to Cambridge, a tree fell onto the A10 literally just a few cars in front of me. Nit to mention seeing several lorries almost being blown off the road. I haven't experienced anything this wild for a long time.

Don't think 17 made it down? It appears to have gone past and done another tight turn.  Wonder if VIR873P, which was following it in, will make it down..?

Snow_Joke do you have a subscription to watch them land?

Interesting to watch the storm activity going on without, for once, being in the middle of it!

Have to say though, a pretty decent wind even down here, a few things being blown over and we're hundreds of miles from the action zone!!

Pray that no aeroplanes/control towers make a mistake in the next hour or two

airlive.net is following the landings for today free of charge. If it wasn't for the rain associated with the winds today i'd be down at MAN myself livestreaming on periscope/FB.

The worst damaging part of the winds were early on here from the west to SWly and squally showery rain.

Since it moved W/NW it got slacker unexpected.

But looks like central south and east are getting it now gusts upto 70mph inland good to see for a change.

And severe gale force winds there too.

This is the worst destruction i have known around these parts.

Wolverhampton Crown Court was evacuated this morning as Storm Doris struck.

Panels were falling from the ceiling in the reception area leaving wiring exposed and lights were flickering on and off as gale force winds swept.

A tannoy announcement was made at around 10.50am, telling all members of the public and barristers to leave the court. Staff were asked to remain.

Security guards told people to head home and that the court would remain shut for the whole day.

Garden flooded, part of my garage roof has blown clean off, many branches have come down but thankfully no trees. Many roads around here closed or partially closed with long queues around Queensferry. Wind speed has died down a touch but still some frightening gusts.
