This is peak for you including lunchtime

I'm in south oxfordshire, Jo. Is it at it's peak here? Just rescued our bins and wondering if I need to weigh them down if the winds are going to strengthen!!

Center of Doris is right over our region hence why we have barely a breeze

Are these accurate? or has Doris taken a more southerly path

Wind seems to be ramping up here after a calmer period

Thanks! I've popped into work to take the netball posts down too. As you say, just one gust is all it takes!

Well..met,gfs, and in particular arpege had me in the strongest gusts area...yet I've farted stronger wind than this...calm now after a slight breezy period....big letdown.

If you can fart at 60mph i'd suggest ether seeing a doctor or contacting the guiness book of records

The peak of Doris has passed gusts slowly easing from the west

Maybe a slightly misleading tweet. Capel Curig is very exposed. For the Midlands and East Anglia their stormy weather is about to set in properly through the afternoon. Nothing easing about Doris for eastern England

Squawking 7700 now, must be in a hurry to land..

Over Heald Green, after the hold+deviation the fuel gauges must be worrying low. EDIT FI440 is on the ground now, must have made one white-knuckle landing for all onboard with the reserves down to the bare minimum.

It seems that even with the last-minute turn south, Leeds is completely unscathed so far. It's been a still, rainy day all day today.

The worst of the winds are always in the SW quadrant of the low, and as the low centre was further south, Leeds is missing most of the wind action. There always some doubt about the exact track, slightly north or south. The calmest conditions for those sitting right under the low centre. NW 'ly to follow will be cold and wintry

National Park Wardens are reporting a 100 mph gust in The Pen-y-Pass, about 5 miles from Capel Curig and very exposed .

Pete

Yep I drove up there this morning to works, and through Capel Curig, was insane.

Crikey, yeah. I was pretty relieved when I saw it land.
