That chart shows temperatures around average (+/- 0.5’C anomaly). Can’t see why some are getting giddy over that. Average temperatures from this setup would be rubbish.

Yes Grif..just to put a little more context to that..he actually stated the UK looks in a good position for Snow potential. I think I'm taking time out the model thread,I can't believe the childish behaviour over whether 850s are cold enough..And its all to do with the ones who have yet to see snow..Life goes on...

Yes, bonkers isn't it?

Are people calling the det a forecast? Are they applying the mean?

Do they know things will fall as per a model run? What about (hopefully not) outliers on the warm side? Or, better yet, colder options?

Not to mention boundary / marginal events with air masses capable of holding more moisture...

Plus big question is this a snap, or a spell (whatever that might be) or something longer?

In the meantime, here's a tweet!

Pinches of salt but this could actually be significant...

If this comes to fruition then we are truly in for an extended spell of severe weather

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
