Looking at the meto updates on here there forecasts have been pretty spot on.last year was generally for a cold set up and periods of snow.what does that tell us?well the chance of cold weather into the UK is difficult at the extreme and altho the current weather is of the normal still needs forecasting in the same vein

Most of these minima years were actually pretty cold eg 81 ( = winter 81/82 ), 85, 86, 2010

Don't think though that mentioning 80s winters matters nowadays as our has climate has changed since then.
