Coupling on gfs ops through week 2 looking a little better today as the downwelling rebounds and is also concentrated below 60N  - perhaps yesterdays run was a blip.  Gfs also now showing the extremely strong upper vortex beginning to weaken a little end week 2 as predicted by ec46 10hpa zonal flow 

hopefully we can move on from this on the modelling fairly soon
