He's had even more fun with the Express who managed to publish 7 weather stories in around 9 hrs today!

I really hate this thread.  The complexities and uncertainties relating to weather forecasting simply cannot be boiled down to 144 character tweets and remain in any way meaningful.  And it is credit to the vast majority of professional forecasters that they don't appear in here, as opposed to the  likes of Dutton, Fawkes etc.  who feel the need for some reason.

Mike. I've made a number of posts on this very subject and imho, you are correct. It is the "I want my 15 minutes of fame" mentality attached to social media, esp shown in twitterland.

And in a large private sector co like a large fin servs co., for example, only co.supervised twitter accounts are allowed. Individual management would not be allowed to comment on co.  subject matter without their tweets passing through a comms manager or similar.

Firstly Lee who is this person tweeting? Has Ben Elton resurrected the character?

Why do some members keep posting tweets from unknown sources?

With zonal winds heading back to normal levels soon we are likely to see the PV reform and get back to normal. let’s hooe it doesn’t take up shop over Greenland and scupper our chances of a cold Feb!

That's at 10mb, Tim; it's the first part of the atmosphere to respond to stratospheric temperature-changes...
