2014/15 was a rubbish winter....but I did at least wake up four days in a row to see fresh fallen snow in the first week of Feb. Slightly concerned now with the EC46 outlook that it might end up proving a more productive winter than this one!

its been snowing for about quarter an hour 50p flakes already!! Steady, not heavy.. hopefully it gets a bit heavy and it can settle

If it falls as snow here, it will be falling on ice..

That's not good..

i can confirm main band is currently moderate/heavy snow, small to medium sized flakes with a gusty wind here on the coast.. maybe inland might see bigger flakes making it settles better?

I hope it doesn't turn to sleet just as it starts settling here I was really hoping just for a white dusting..

Forecast on ITV was sleet for here, and now someone has posted the same from the BBC. At the min the ice isn't melting to spite sun. So may be warm sector.

Don't think I've ever seen it snow so slowly, one flake every 3 seconds. No sign of any settling at all here.

I've seen that, looks lovely, I think anyway. But no use for landing.

just ventured out on the roads here in Thanet and you would not believe that there was any snow or ice about this morning  as the only ice I could see was in some very small puddles !!!

Light covering here after it started snowing at about 7.30. The main band is now moving through and we have moderate snow. Going to be an interesting day in this neck of the woods: 3m tidal surge predicted later.

Just started chucking it down with heavy snow! Unexpected twist!

Stray waves overtopped and sprayed over the sea defences along the seawall this morning but is expected to be much worse tonight

This was the A17 bridge near holbeach this morning. Expecting this to be at a higher level tonight. The thought of that is quite scary!

Good morning Britain main headlines:

"Snow brings Winter hell across the country"

"Winter chaos"

It really is a cringeworthy as you can get... Even my partner who is Português has just said "what's the big deal" "it's a Tiny weeney bit of snow"

Enough to close the secondary school my two older kids go to. It's closed because of ice not snow though. They've deemed it to dangerous to walk up the path to the school for the kids. Same with the school next door. It is about 200m of very steep hill though, and I was expecting this.

That's daft. We all used to arrive at school forty-five minutes early, just so we could make super slides on the playground!:D

The radar says yes, looking out the window says no show snow.

I've seen 3 flakes exactly this morning.

It's all health and safety now though. Like I've said before, the only time I missed school through cold, rather than snow, was in school the day before. Was cause the pipes froze in 87.

That was great! 1cm dusting of snow from that main bit just passed.. walked down two streets to the prom whilst it was snowing here though and it was sleet, got very lucky was just far enough up the hill for anything.

It's looking very worrying at this point.. Hunstanton took a battering on Thursday and waves were insane at an only .92metre surge, but it's peak later at over twice that worried me.. could be looking at 2013 kind of flooding here, luckily since then they fitted new improved sea defences that hopefully might make the difference

Radar showed decent enough snow towards the south east, but barely a flake! False radar me thinks :(
