Left Orpington at 4.45, pouring with rain and 7 degrees.  Got to Biggin, temp dropped to 0 degrees, everything covered, and, at the time very heavy snow.  Almost had to abandon car, but just made it. Looks so beautiful but so scary to drive in. Looks like tomorrow morning will be treacherous :cold:

Thanks, it doesn't sound good - flooding expected tomorrow for high tide. Army and police up and down her street banging on doors :(

Easing off here now, about a cm or two on cars etc. Not great, but better than the last few winters!

It is - she's partially sighted too so even worse! Keeping my fingers crossed for everyone in Jaywick. My sisters husband is going up now to move some of her possessions upstairs in case the worst does happen

It has !! And starting to slightly settle. I really wasn't expecting that. I moved down here to get away from the wretched snow !

Seems the raintoday radar is rather overdoing the extent of the precip. All these places around London reporting the snow has stopped and yet the radar still shows moderate precipitation.

Remember a radar sees whats in the sky, not whats making it to the ground.
