The sun is out up here, though it is a bit on the blowy side.

It's no wonder the amber warning is closer to London!

If my memory is correct that is Euston road with Judd street on the left

It did go a little hairy when the squall like feature passed through. Blowing rain I'm absolutely drenched.

Here on the North Kent coast we're the tiniest fraction out of the dark red zone on the Arpege at 3pm today, however, this is being almost ignored on the weather bulletins. Obviously it's going to be a lot worse further north, but what's the chances of Doris moving slightly South?

That sort of small adjustment over the next 6 hours is certainly possible. I think it was Storm Angus back in November that tracked further south at the last minute and on that occasion our Region then missed the worse winds that had been forecast.

It'll be interesting to watch this chart as the day progresses. You can see the 132 kph in the red zone over North Wales, and Carol has just reported the highest gust so far at Capel Curig in North Wales at 82 mph.

Thanks Blessed Weather. Time to batten down the hatches I think.  At least we don't have our trampoline anymore so it can't end up next door (like before!)

local radio     saying  our  main bridge  over the  a14  at ipswich  could  be  shut  from 6 oclock   in the  morning  all day  due to the 80  mph   winds expected  if  that   happens   stay  out  of  town it will  be  mayhem!!!!

Just announced on the radio that they've closed the A14 Orwell Bridge and it's likely to stay shut for the rest of the day. So all the lorries travelling to/from the World's 7th largest container port will now be diverted through Ipswich!! Mayhem indeed!!

The orange zone of gusts now reaching our Region. 147 kph (91 mph) in North Wales. Strongest in our Region so far 91 kph (56 mph) off the Kent coast.

Yes i certainly wont be heading out in the car now, guaranteed gridlock.

Getting noisy outside with bins and things starting to bang around, house creaking has started.

Well was going to ask where the storm was after a bit of blowly rain this morning and my woolly hat it is windy out. Bins over, bangs crashes poor bubs wendy house over turned and all over the shop. Not looking forward to the school run, it's a wind tunnel by the class rooms if we have a light breeze by the house. Nope not looking forward to it at all.

Gusts of 60-70mph in Lincolnhire, according to a Tweet quoted by Summer Sun in the MOD thread.  Must be gusting to at least 50-55mph here, and we're comparatively sheltered, despite being on slightly higher ground by Norfolk standards (I'm at 44 metres ASL).

Confirmed by Meteociel 'Gusts' readings at 12.30 Chris. It's showing the red zone covering all of East Anglia and extending down into North Kent with gusts widely of 90 kph (56 mph) and a reading of 110 kph (68 mph) in the west of the Region.
