Keeping my fingers crossed for here in NW Kent. Got some elevation so poss a chance of a covering. What do you think Steve?

NW kent / SE london- 50:50 as winds could be to much NE - we need pure easterly

however lets see what develops...

There was some persistent snow for an hour or two around lunchtime, this has then cleared to some sunshine.

Perhaps another spell of moderate snow overnight as this moves in off the north sea, turning less cold over the weekend and milder and brighter by Monday as the winds veer more south to south easterly.

As convection is now beginning to show near Gt Yarmouth. I imagine snow showers should start developing this afternoon towards Suffolk, Essex and then finally Kent this evening.

Amazing how quickly the paths have been drying here which is always a good indicator of dropping dewpoints.

Hope so TEITS, only had a small amount of graupel here yesterday for about an hour and thats it so far. Be nice to get even temporary cover before spring arrives

If anyone is worried about snow settling on wet ground just remember last month. Hours of realy heavy rain and drenched ground. Turns to snow and settles in minutes. I wouldn't worry about that BUT its whether the snow will be heavy enough to settle anyway

The snow showers keep pepping up here. I wonder if this is due to us being south of the Chilterns. If so, this bodes well for tonight, fingers crossed!

Keep eye on precipitation radar here
http://www.raintoday.co.uk/

Showers beginning to form off Lowestoft/Southwold coast in East Anglia...possibly coming down to North Kent.

Will need more Easterly component to hit Western areas it seems.....lets see!

Southwold is lovely, great Pub the Lord Nelson near the top of the town.
