According to local observations, the current dew point here is 0.8 with an air temperature of 1.3. We really need that dew point to drop below zero for any of the white stuff to fall.

Top of the morning to you all. I Know its a damp and dull day, but things look to improve from as early as Sunday with a breeze picking up, that should stir all this cloud up and hopefully we will see some sunshine. Sunset today 5.09 temp at the mo 2.5c. Wind calm.

till then just sit buy the fire, have another brandy, only 12 Days till the start of the Met office Spring. So when the sun does come out it will soon lift the temps, Im sure it will be milder by Sunday.

Hope everyone here is in good health and fine stained glass windowle, have a jolly good day everyone and enjoy your weekend.

The models indicated the showers would move further inland today although not as heavy or widespread as the radar suggests. By the way DPs are set to drop during the day.

Thank you.  And it's good to see you posting back in this thread.

From 1-4 today the air will dry out & dewpoints drop to the levels where there shouldnt be any more drizzle

showers will develop over east kent & suffolk & during the eve & overnight migrate west-

streamer locations either mid kent or east kent....

It's been a damp squib so far, as we do have a pool of dew points >1C across the SE of England this morning, while they are below 0C up north so why they are getting snow rather than slizzle

GFSOPUK00_9_37.thumb.png.3dae07f00babd953909fb42111a38aea.png

But, there is a drier flow with DPs below 0C upstream over Holland heading our way

pointrosee_uk.thumb.png.701d7d38e09e04e64c84254c7beff361.png

So by mid afternoon dew points are below freezing again

ECMWF showing some light snowfall for our area early Saturday morning as a trough arrives off the North Sea

But after Saturday morning, looks like the higher dew points of 1-2C return, so any showers turning back to rain

I don't really trust the models in these situations, prefer radar. However apart from the Kent the GFS does not predict much snow.

A Wash streaner maybe?

Surprisingly the 06Z GFS suggests the risk of snow even on Sunday. Little dubious though.

Well I have nothing on the radar, but after peering out the window and doing a little snow dance outside to make sure, we have very light sleety snow falling here.

Excitement level 3/10

Hubs has gone out in search of a bacon roll for our brunch.

The snow has arrived in Peterborough. May miss out on the heaviest though.

Wash streamer about to set up TEITS? Even though they normally happen in a less stratoform setup and more low based CB?

I have been sitting by the window and have been engrossed in what I was reading while catching up in here.. Just glanced up as I thought I heard the delivery driver we were expecting and noticed that while reading I have been missing the fact that it's sleety outside.. Just spoke to driver and he says it's been trying to snow in a few areas locally this last half hour.
