Well the temperature started around freezing this morning and has actually fallen further to -2C during the day, strange day really as it didn't feel that bad with the wind not being that brisk and there is no ice at all.

:sorry:

He said himself he slipped because he was wearing ordinary shoes and hadn't thought it was that slippery, went over and took his full weight on one arm, and is quite elderly as well, so it was worrying.

like an idiot i also wasnt wearing my heavy boots, i made sure i wore them today.

Never got above -0.9c here today. Has since dropped to -3.3c but now up at a balmy -2.7c. Coldest since December 2010. Looking forward to possible flurries in the morning.

One of those rare days where the temperature fell as the day wore on. At 07.00 this morning it was -0.6C yet by 14.00 it had fallen to -2.4C. Currently -2.7C.

That's one to 'archive' Malcolm even more so the cold air is being drawn up directly south in summer it would have been very warm if not hot. Bitter day in SE London.

Evening All

currently -2.2 here in Greenhithe with the outside bitter & bone dry- any areas with water are frozen solid-

Some concerns over tomorrow as the PPN is either going to be Snow or Rain, if its rain then the SE could be looking at a minor ice storm as even 1mm of rain would coat everything in ice...

lets hope its snow- at least the threat will be visible- both the HIRLAM & APERGE have snow in Kent / london & essex before rush area with max values 2mm- which still equates to 2cm !

lets hope its not 2mm of ice !

Friday morning's weak disturbance and hopefully wintry precipitation heading north still to the south of Paris atm. Falling mostly as rain away from high ground, but is moving into colder air over northern France and SE UK.

Even the City of London has stayed below 0C all day, though at 22z not far off creeping above.

Temperature didn't fall below -1.6 yesterday. Has risen to -0.8 currently with light rain falling and freezing on all surfaces. Will certainly be a slippy one in the morning!
