Had a little look at the nature reserve this morning, ice between 3-4" thick on the lake and I could not break it. I didn't throw anything, just tried my foot.

River lea navigation frozen, broken and re-frozen.

This cold spell is maybe worthy of the tag "notable"....

Dew point here above freezing for the first time in days... still bitterly cold out; I think it's 9 consecutive frosts we've had here and the ground is solid. Certainly the most notable spell of cold weather since March 2013... (imagine if that rain last Thursday week had all been snow - there would have still been some about today!)

Im on fog watch tonight, and keeping an eye on a possible storm watch next week, who knows

It's useless!

Up in the North West Highlands the only solution was to leave the engine/heater running whilst enjoying a cup of coffee...I guess that, should you try that down here, your car will be nicked faster than you can say 'Jack Robinson'?

Temps not dropping as quick this evening. Currently 0.2c   

Fog starting to Thicken up.. back garden still rock hard though.

Not sure it will be quite as cold tonight but still below freezing..

As soon as the sun went down the temperature went down with it. 

Saw a wicked sunset with vivid pinks then the fog thickened up quick. Gone down below freezing here again as the water that was Dripping of the Surrey ice block had frozen. 

Heathrow bosses must be sitting there going "oh for f* sake"

Have to be honest , loving this weather especially at sunset & sunrise , the colours mixed with the frost & fog have been breath taking..

Lol, I can just imagine.......wrong kind of fog, wrong kind of ice, wrong kind of cold, what do we do......help

Only +2.5c here, very different from last night, im keeping an eye on my weathercam for fog watch...

Changed my signature and its spot on, I will never ever forget that storm.

A couple of hours of sunshine during the morning, but overall it has been pretty cloudy and it has actually been raining during the evening.

It feels milder this morning but we have a slight frost in Croydon..Car registering 0°C.

Clear with a temp of -2.2c at 06.15, frost on the church roof opposite, total opposite of yesterday when it had warmed up by dawn

-1.6 in Epsom.2 Days forecast fog and as clear as the eye can see,do these forecasters have any ideas as to what it is going to be.

2 more days of frost then back to the jet and 2 weeks at least of sw winds
