Southend down to -5 already! Seems to be  some continental influence in the east of our region. Farnborough is down to -4 (no surprise there), but temperatures have stabailsed here at -1

Feel a bit sorry for the market traders here in St Ives, two Mondays lost for Bank Holidays and the last two it's poured with rain.

Not looking good for tomorrow with freezing fog likely, temp is already down to -2.3c

I think -5c is a bit excessive.

Local says -2.5c at 7pm.

I have -1c here and on the beach its -0.4c

Fog is not exciting. At best it is annoying. Horrible to drive and walk in.

Actually it is -4C at Southend airport and -3C at Shoeburyness according to recent readings. The coldest part of the country at the moment.

You can view all the nearby weather stations here by the way.

We had thick fog up until an hour ago , during that time the temp hovered around -1 c ..

Now the fog has cleared and the temperature has dropped very fast to - 3.5 c  and falling.. Very icy outside, just walked dog and pavements are ice rinks..

So, Southend is the coldest place is the UK right now. That's really quite something!

Not entirely true , places in Thanet are recording - 4 now.. gonna b some battle tonight..

What's interesting is both Southend & Thanet are coastal...

-1.2 now, is was  around-3.8 around 07.30 this morning. it just goes to show that compared with the rest of the Country, how we are lucky to live in the South East and draw, the continental air from Europe, the same applies in Summer, for those who like heat. Gender Male, Location Battersea, London..

And also really puts in perspective London's westward sprawl!

I asked Paul about this a few months ago and was told that these stations are all both official airport stations or met office stations

Could be murder on the roads around here tomorrow morning, ice had formed a few hours ago and is still around plus the fog is picking up now too. Unsure whether it's going to stay around and keep the temps up but give awful visibility or lift and create sheet ice on everything

well judging the town centre I suspect Siberia, in the middle of an easterly gale midwinter has better social life than Farnborough lol
