Who else is in the NO SNOW club?

Nothing but cold rain!

Just spoke to someone from the environment agency at Wells-next-the-sea and they are expecting flooding on par with December 2013.

I love snow but hate northerly winds that deliver nothing but coastal devastation to this area.

we have had nothing but cold rain.  how come the south has had snow?  this country really is tits up weatherwise.

We are now starting to get flood warnings from the environment agency, look out if you are near the sea front in the Southend area.  I am too far away to be affected, but stay safe everyone.

I am in Southchurch at the top of Lifstan Way, so no worries here. Hopefully the surge won't top the sea wall.....

It's the location where the (really) cold air met the precipitation. Colder air to come.

Snow is heavy but very small grains, quite surprised thought it was more marginal than this from reports.

DP now turning positive, so expecting it to turn back to a wintry mix before fizzling in the next hour or so. Great whilst it lasted and the best snow since March 2013. Happy!

Still snowing quite heavy in Dymchurch, and now actually laying on all surfaces.

Wind has picked up too, snow going sideways!

My kids are super excited :-) and have to admit so am I!

First snow in 4 long years!

Snow coming down heavy still :) has the snow reached Eastbourne/Hastings yet?

Yes the rain turned to snow very rapidly here in St Leonards on Sea/ Hastings around 6.30pm. Settling quite readily as well.

Cold air undercutting the rain band......cold air moves quicker than the warm front......so while many more northern parts didnt get snow...the cold air did catch up in time for SE England to see snow.,...coupled with night-time temps thats helped too

Shoeburyness to Southend Pier and along the Westcliff front, and Southchurch Park are all under a red warning, but you should be safe enough at the top of Lifstan way, it would have to be a mighty surge to all the way up there.

One thing I have learned this evening. Snow will lay on anything if it is heavy enough, even if it has rained solid for 6 hours before!

One for the memory bank and I take it back earlier when I thought nothing would accumulate (even though it is a temporary covering)

The wind has just got up here now. I would say it's the closest to a blizard I've ever seen, although I know it's not one.

If snow isn't a temporary covering in the UK then pretty much we're into the next ice age :sorry:

That was not worth waiting for lol, a few flakes on the car, one hour of snow after hours of rain, it shouldn't have bothered here lol
