Heavy snow here in Dymchurch, laying on the cars but no where else.

Also pleased to report my lights have not flickered at all!

Stopping now. Just goes to show, it can rain for most of the day, but if the conditions are right, snow will stick.

Heavy snow in Purley for the last hour. everything covered and roads appalling!

And that's exactly where I have to be in about an hour, I'm just gonna take my time. Still snowing lightly here.

Glad you lot south of me got snow, alas here the entire system passed through as rain, not even a flake.

So silly question of the day will the snow covering drop the the temps so if its supposed to be 1c overnight will it drop below freezing because of the snow?

All over here I feel. Met say it's meant to be moderately snowing for 2 hours right now but we've had nothing and now even the rain's gone.

Yep it has pulled away faster than what some models were suggesting a bit disappointing. A light covering on grassy surfaces, wonderful to see some snow again.

Well tomorrow looks potentially better well that's probable according to GFS 12z :)

Increasingly windy here in Tunbridge Wells and still snowing steadily - according to the MetO it's set to continue here for at least the next couple of hours. On pavements it's settling but it's slushy - if that freezes solid tonight A&E is going to be packed tomorrow.

Hello I've just been lurking around the regional threads to see what's happening in the u.k and I couldn't help but notice the amount of pages you guys have amassed today  44 pages in 8 hrs that is pretty busy and probably the reason why the power keeps flickering

Flickering lights may be caused by snow settling on power lines/trees causing contact and arcing?
