Euro4 goes for 20cm. Now it depends on the speed at which this system moves through; you can expect it to stay like this until 9pm, then lighter until 10pm. 20cms is not some far-fetched fantasy given that it arrived and turned to snow about an hour before the MetO said it would, and they're going for at least 3 hours solid of the rate of snowfall you can see outside.

Not the latest output - looks like 10 cm max over Kent hills to me

Nothing new there, busses stuck on Brighton rd no doubt.

I don't know specifically but I've heard from family members that are unable to get home around Addington,  Shirley and surrounding areas.

Really?! We're about 10 mins drive east of Crowborough, 145m asl, and still only have rain. Barely sleet. Either it's about to turn for us, or we've ended up with an unlucky pocket of warmer air off the channel earlier.

Snowing North of us, South of us (Ditchling) and just barely West of us...

yeah it's really coming down heavy, everything turning white very quickly, should be with you very soon I guess :)

It changed incredibly quickly for us in Tunbridge Wells - literally a few minutes ago and you're just down the road from us so - be patient!

Argh! It had better change soon... About 4 miles southeast of T Wells and higher up and still raining. I'm not even checking because I can hear it's rain... Normally we're blessed with snow here...

If those in the know are thinking properly, they'll be out once the precipitation has cleared and before it ices over properly. If that happens, respect for Medway council might be notched up a peg.

This will get lost in the madness but to all posters who tried to educate me on snow settling on soaking wet ground that I ignored I owe you an apology. Can't believe my eyes

Snow starting to settle on grass and shed.

Not roads .

Dew point dropping quickly.

Will it stall and pivot?
