Possible snowfall event southeast England late Thursday 12th January

GFS guidance indicates low pressure developing rapidly in a cold unstable northwesterly flow with the low set to emerge from formation over south-central England into the Dover straits and then into Belgium. Seems like a scenario where 2-5 cm of snow could develop rather quickly with gusty west to northwest winds blowing it around. Thoughts? Already discussed somewhere else? (can't seem to find a discussion).

Oh thanks, I had the feeling it would be under discussion but I was looking in this sub-forum. Well, mods may want to terminate this or use it to promote discussion of the snowfall potential. I think it will bring a brief but heavy period of snow that may amount to 5 cm on higher ground in Kent and Surrey, generally 2 cm in most of the southeast and East Anglia.
