All appears to be due to cold front being destabilised later this afternoon and into this evening

Follow that line of showers back to the CI and there's more T&L down there too.  Heading your way, Mapantz I think.

Just been thoroughly miserable here today, heavy rain this morning, a brief dry interlude this afternoon and then showers.  More to come here as well. Total contrast to the almost spring like day we had yesterday.

It has reminded me of a thundery plume today - some nice clouds rolling in, showing some minor instability. Speaking of which, one or three sferics showing up..

Just like a thundery plume, I expect it to slide East or West of me lol

Tracked lightning was out over Poole Bay. Mapantz your next toy must be a lightning detector surely, to take you up to the next level.? Come on you know you're keen to know when the plumes are on their way..

IOW weather is clearly offline for lightning. Strikestar is showing the lightning, and suggestion is the next area looks a tad more lively but likely out over the bay.

Really heavy rain here at the moment. Heard a bit of distant thunder not long ago.

Yep that's probably the marker out over Poole/Bournemouth bay. Watching to the S to see if we pick up the next active cell..nah looks like it's petered out now. The good stuff is down over the channel.

Good to see reports of Thunder elsewhere as ever and luckily for me, I can also report my First thunder day of the year too. Just a moment ago.

Glad to see the weather is practising for the summer plumes, missing both the SW and the SE haha.

Thunder and lightning here too within last 20m.. an added bonus.  If this was summer this would be a lively plume event..?

We could do with a Guernsey / Jersey reporter on here, as it looks fairly lively down there..

Flew back from Guernsey this evening thunder and very heavy/torrential downpours.

The area of thundery weather showed up on apps and forecasts approximately 50 miles further West than it has occurred.
