Interesting how the met office charts show one thing and their website shows another. According to their website the wind in the local area for the next week will be nothing to write home about.

Morning all, a balmy 8.9 here and wet, it's been wet since late Saturday with the only variation being intensity. Still can't find it in myself to welcome this rain, even if the water tables do need topping up before our scorching summer. Tentative signs it may turn colder in a week or so; if it doesn't make it to cold and snowy, I'm crossing fingers for cold and dry as the current kind of weather but 2-3c really doesn't float my boat.

Oh..... is that the Daily Express Killer Arctic Blast on the way:rofl:

Pick a model any model, and have any choice of what you think might happen next week, the MAD thread is all over the place..

Don't forget, that's maximum windspeeds. On Thursday, the gusts are showing at 50mph+

Got my shorts and t-shirt on today!

Temp: 11.6°C - Hum: 97% - Dew: 11.2°C - Rain: 8.2mm - Bar: 1011.11hPa - Wind: S @ 7mph.

I'm getting close to breaking my monthly rain record on this station, which stands at 117mm, back in November. January stands at 112.8mm.

Must be close to being the wettest place in the UK this month. 88.6mm here including 9.0mm today so far.

Stopped raining here for the moment and almost instantly turned foggy.

Vile day once again. Only saving grace is I've just been to the gym and braved it in just a tee-shirt.

9C minimum and 11C maximum, mildest day since mid December.

Couldn't see the office from the Hilton today in Bournemouth. Top of Richmond Hill enshrouded in fog.

No fog here, for a change.. it is pantzing it down, though.

Fixed up a new manual rain gauge today! I dropped the other while emptying it, and cracked it. lol

It's a really nice and clear design - bigger than the picture suggests.

I've just looked at the ten day forecast for here...95% chance of snow next week???Surely not

That's computer based on the obsulete GFS Operational output.  You're better off watching a channel 5 long range weather forecast.

It seems the GodFearsSnow has had a moment to reflect on it's determined party pooper attitude and has transformed into GiganticFantasySnowfest.

Trust me, 2nd half of Feb is going to be EPIC!! And more so for the south than the north.

here it here right now my punt!! Huge scandi high, direct result of SSW, buckling jet in the Atlantic causing relentless systems to slide from the NW to SE, burying the entire SW region in mountains of snow!!

WINTER AINT OVER YET!! Not by a long shot!! Meto seem to think trop response expected mid Feb, then I'll take that. March would be too late. Mid Feb is good by me, I have a feeling it will be a tad earlier though. Game on! Hopefully a few winter storms before then. I've really missed them this year!

this winter has been a bit like watching Barcelona dominate a match, relentlessly attacking the oppositions goal, shot after shot, pass after pass, and eventually the inevitable happens, GOAL!

Its always much sweeter in the 89th minute :D

I'm gonna milk this if I'm correct after my "punt".
