Beautiful morning here but bone chillingly cold at -6.8C in the last hour with a dew point near -8C. No cloud or wind with a lot of hoar frost which has doubled on top of yesterday mornings in the areas where the sun doesn't get.

Stunning last 3 days, sunny and quite cold with dry air for here in January on Thursday in particular (min humidity was 35% with -8.5C dew point)

-4.1C on Thursday morning, -3.3C yesterday morning. It rose to 3.2C last night and then back to -0.9C at 7am.

Typically it clouded over really with the clear sky just to my NE, always seems to cloud over or be too breezy on what would be the coldest nights here with 'interestingly' low temps (South Somerset for instance has lots of stations reporting -5 to -7C this morning)

Morning all, a low of -7.1 overnight, currently -3.4, like Gibby it's beautifully frosty around here. Clear blue sky and wall to wall sunshine, off to the coast for a bracing walk with the dogs.

Glorious again today. Such a shame we're not even getting a decent breakdown to mild later in the week.

Beautiful day. The cloud that was promised is holding off. It's so nice to finally get out in it. Trimming the wissey is the main job today. :)

Min of -4.4C this morning.

Second ice day coming maybe at home looking at station while waiting for transfer.

It snowed 5 of the 7 days here continuously with near one metre of snow. Incredible to see.

Finally after about 3 hours at 2.8°C the temperatures dropped to 2.7°C. The high was 2.9°C earlier this morning so not much movement since around mid morning.

Best so far today was 2.2°C at: 15:07. However, with this layer of cloud nighttime temps are unlikely to drop, unless we see some clearing.

Currently 2.1°C (35.8°F), Apparent temp -0.0°C

Typical of this winter, we had the overnight cold, we have the day cold, what we lack is the precipitation.

For all those that forever say "Lets get the cold in first, the snow will follow" 2017 has proven to break that saying time after time, given the next week looks to see temperatures climb..

After a beautiful start and an overnite low of -6.4C.....it has clouded over and now stands at 2.3C....was going to go for a late afternoon stroll in the sun but not out in that horrible cloud.Even if we get a flurry i can only see the temp rise and it ending up as rain.:wallbash:

You should be banned UNTIL we get some snow. Your powers of snowmaking for the UK have failed you & US. That deserves a ban until such time the weather improves..
