Ah I see! Well, fingers crossed for both places. I don't know what it is lately, I never used to really care about dull skies- I mean I didn't particularly like them then, but I seem to have a real hatred for nothing-type weather at the moment.

Yes non descript is not much for weather enthusiasts. I'd rather a good storm than average and dull.

Mind you the temperature for Saturday here is progged at 4c. I think it might go a snitch lower if it does it will colder than lasts week "winter" fiasco.

2.5c here now. Just took the dog for a walk, and it is nippy out now.

Temps starting to drop off a bit now. 2.7°C

If you go by the fact that the GFS doesn't really do high resolution temperatures very well, this could be the coldest night that most of us have recorded in this region, during this Winter.

As had already been mentioned the issue this week will be location and cloud as everywhere will be dry. At the moment it's partly cloudy here with a temp of 6C and no wind. We are still quite close to the front.

Morning all, bit of an odd sky here this morning, we're under the cloud but there's a very distinct bank of it with a very marked edge and clear sky beyond, the clear is quite quickly rolling this way. Currently it's just below freezing at -0.5, wondering if the clear rolls in before it's properly light, whether or not temps will drop?

Facebook did one of those 'remember this' thing this morning and came up with this from 4 years ago today....

In my defence I'd like to say it's only for my dogs benefit, they love snow so much I merely try to offer them hope. Honestly......

I saw that as I drove off to work but didn't have a camera. There was another photo op about 5 mins later with a load of trails crossing and brightly lit. Looks like being a nice crisp Jan day today.

We lie right on the edge of the cloud sheet this morning. Clear skies to the South with frost levels down at -4 to -6C rurally while under the cloud sheet NW of a line Bristol to Shepton Mallet it is +3C or more under grey skies. Here's my Webshop a short while back.

It was very apparent driving towards Bath from Warminster. Nice to be on the cloudless side!

A chilly Start, I could see the back edge of the cloud this morning on the commute, doesn't seems to have got anyfurther west.

Don't look at photos of the Balearic's or Benidorm from today if you are easily depressed. :cold::cold:

I'll start looking fwd to next winter then

Khodds, dont venture into the MAD thread, look at this...

Those suggesting the possibility of colder conditions from say mid February may be on to something and it's perfectly possible for lowland snow ..

It's going to be a waiting game - a minimum of 14 days in my view and perhaps as long as 28 days :lazy:
