Temperature risen slightly to 1.9°C and DP also up to 1.3°C. Was getting hopeful when it dropped at the rate it did.

Just reached botley further 10 mins down the line and snow only now and settling fast big wet flakes see what fareham and Gosport have

Hello everyone!

As usual, I've been absent from the forum since the last threat of snow!  None yet here in Bracknell but as you guys in Newbury have some, I am hopeful, especially as Heathrow have cancelled 80 flights.  Someone's going to have egg on their face if it doesn't happen!

More a variation of the theme, but yeah, the upper air cold heads into France rather than the S of the UK.

FWIW, at the surface, probably not a lot of difference.  Still cold and dry with night frosts from midweek onwards, just perhaps not as "biting" cold.  Still too far off for specific detail anyway.

It's settling on cold cars and on the grass!  Temp from 3c to 1.8c in no time at all.  Dropping like a stone!

OK sleet has stopped now as forcasted. All eyes on the radar now. What are the chances of a polar low developing over the warm Irish sea?....I can dream

Sleeting here in Reading as well, with some big flakes mixed in. Closest data I have available is from the university with T= 1.8C and DP=1.2C, falling steadily.

Nothing here but rain about 10 miles N of Bristol. Clear skies moving in. Definitely going to be a bitter night with ice and a risk of snow showers.

Just on bus last part of journey as suspected snow well now and slushy ice building up on the roads in fareham as suspected as nearly always happens this side of the downs if it comes in from a Northley quarter the downs have a hapbit of increasing the ppn giving a better snow chance seen it happen a couple of time now over the last 50 years
