Gibby may have this wrong as it's snowing in many places, not Swindon yet though just sleet

No I think that areas east and SE of me will probably do OK. Just here in the West Country too slow an undercut of cold air before the depth of depression intensified the speed of the undercut has meant areas west of Wiltshire have largely missed out. I think the SE could have a rough couple of hours this evening though. Enjoy..

Intermittently sleet here now, hard to know what to expect in the immediate future as the London radar has gone wacky (typical eh!).

You're closer to the more intense band that's got it's act together over the New Forest.

Only moderate rain here @ 3.5C.

Just been outside to get the bins in and it's vile out there.

Snow starved IOW is very soggy at the moment, hoping for a blizzard in the next couple of hours . :D

Tell me about it. If the cold front arrived this morning we'd have a right proper covering by now. My eyes are on next week to be honest

There are flakes of snow mixed with rain here in poole, Dorset.  Wasn't expecting anything here. Wind changed direction and much stronger too. Temp dropping fast.

Being further East than most in here, I like the sound of that, Singularity. Understandably, there is a certain level of trepidation in here with regards, snow predictions but I'd say the precipitation is clearing SE more slowly than the latest media forecasts indicate, increasing the window of opportunity for many more of us, especially those with elevation on their side. 3.4c and falling plus a falling rapidly barometer trend according to my Davis.

Now sleet In Newbury. 2.8c AT, 2c DP.

Ha Ha Jethro, your snow obsession is impressive!!!!

I'm always the optimist but even my half full glass is now empty having drunk it all in despair. Hick:drinks:

Lol, aim not to disappoint. I blame growing up in the Cotswolds and the epic winters of '70's & '80's, especially 81.

I think I just got a teaser; it's eased off since and is largely rain again.

High-res radar shows us to be in a drier slot with heavier precipitation to the N and NW.

Given the main low is moving away from us, our best hope is for some back-building of heaviest precipitation to occur as the NW flow piles into the cyclonic circulation of the low. Not convinced it will quite be enough for here though - very used to missing out by just a few dozen miles.

Proper blowing snow as well, not that heavy either! Must mean the air mass has changed enough for snow without evep cooling.
