Ha, first thought you said you are working in the bath and assumed liquid snow was the shower!

For those watching on the Netweather radar and wondering about how accurate they are with the actual weather type, this is from their blurb on it:

Weather Type Radar
The weather type detection uses a combination of hi-resolution model data, along with ground observations to show whether rain, sleet, snow, hail or freezing rain is falling. It's an excellent guide, but bear in mind that in very localised situations some variation may occur.

Looking at the radar there is a big lump of rain which needs to push through first, behind this there is some less well organised precipitation, this is what we need to look out for as this is the area which may get undercut by the cold air and turn to the white stuff...

Behind this there seem to be a lot of heavy showers pushing across Ireland, which if they stay intact should be snow by the time they reach the south west, but it would be hit and miss if you got one.

Without wanting to come accross a bit off, I hope the meto are wrong and the colder air quickly tucks in and we start seeing snow in our region around 1430-1500 and then lasting a few hours - looks nearer 1700 on their apps now - if at all in places

Light Rain / Drizzle here in Gosport, Hants with temp of 7.5C but temps dropping at 0.5C/hr. Dew point 6.1C. Met Office have upgraded my forecast to sleet for both 1800 and 1900 with temps of 2C. They said this morning sleet at 1800 but now they are including 1900. Ali I also hope the MetO have got it wrong as I would love a bit of snow down here. But I bet it's going to turn out like it normally does in that towns to the north of Portsdown Hill get snow whilst towns to the south get stuck with rain. Damn that hill it's always messing up the weather. I'm clutching a huge handful of straws and hoping for at least some snow. I don't care if it doesn't settle just something other than cold rain would be nice for a change.

Almost midday and still BBc/MO apps say snow by 4. Changing there mind inside 4 hours would be just plain rude!

Contingency planners for Hampshire County council latest update is that they think less snow risk for Hampshire snow (they're more worried about flooding apparently). Make of that what you will  - not sure they know anything more than we do really.

Wind is still predominantly SW averaging 2 mph but the MetO forecast reckons it should be backing to NE at 1500. Hopefully that will give the temp enough time to drop before the weather front clears through.

Hi rh205! Where is your location. If you  have time update your aviator and profile details then we can work out how your info helps the overall weather pattern!

Cheers!

Been heavy snow on the MO since midday yesterday. As I live there, always choose Alverstoke. Your right though putting Gosport showed both hours as sleet.
