I'm not sure this is going to deliver much more than the mid-Dec snowfall for my location (if that), although the depth and length of cold will be greater.

I think the percentage call would be for nothing disruptive per se, but possibly enough to scrape a snowman or two together in the garden with the kids before a slow transition to less cold.

All told, if a few cms fall over the coming week, this winter has been the most seasonal for several years.

And we are back to cognative dissonance issues in the model thread.   We are allowed to shout as much as we want about one cold chart, but dont dare to comment on any chart that may be considered a downgrade.....its just one chart after all.

    Every time its the same

Looks like a lot of fuss over nothing.. cold, dry and cloudy. Typical easterly rubbish.

I think the only places in the SE that are going to get any measurable snow from this might be Folkstone, it looks pretty dry everywhere else and even Tuesdays front dies a death before it gets to us.

Sadly i've seen this happen over and over and over again, if the SE wants snow it NEEDS either channel low or a long fetch easterly with tightly packed isobars or a North easterly again with uppers low enough to aid convection or tight isobars.

We might see a few errant flakes, but other than that it just looks crisp and cold.

And tbh it doesn't really look all that cold at the surface either, the way some people in the MOD thread are talking you'd think we're all about ti get buried in 10 feet of snow and have sub 0 temperatures for the next 2 months.

Yes not had a decent fall here since Feb 2012 had a decent snowfall in November this year  and just had scraps this winter so far which is a lot better than some previous years and from NW to

Unhealthy signs that this upcoming cold spell will be typical of those since 2013 i.e. hardly worth mentioning!

Another cold spell that’s downgraded to like pathetic again:nonono:

Thought this was going to be the cold spell with the long fetch Easterly bringing heavy snow showers in from the North Sea.So where is it then

just maybe one day of winds from the E then fronts approaching from NW and some  temporary snow .

A far cry from what was said in the model thread.

The wait goes on for a true Siberian blast, and nearly waiting five years to see snow on the ground here.

TMW as it's worst, underestimated again by many members, yes, it's a typical cold spell for the christmas pudding, few colder days 5C in the south, colder in the north, few snow flurries possible, then turning less cold on Thursday 8th, then probably milder still on Sat 10th
