At 975.21hPa at the moment. A buoy in the channel shows 967.

967, lower than what most models have suggested?

You are in big trouble down there if the ARGEPE is right. Fortunately (unfortunately if you want it?!?) the other models keep the highest winds a bit south, don't they.

Well, the Euro4 shows 964 practically over me at 3am - so we shall see! :)

I can't believe how fast the pressure is dropping here, just watching it tick down on my site every minute or so..

The Purbeck hills tend to protect us around here, but it doesn't come close to anything we saw back in 2013/2014. The winds in some of those storms were the worst since '87.

We have had some rain this evening... 31.6mm before midnight and 6.0mm immediately after, which was from a couple brief torrential downpours. The stream has flooded the road and into the garden, and the roads in general are a mess, rivers of muddy water and debris.

But some places a few miles west have had it a whole lot worse, torrential, even violent rain for up to 45 mins... one station has recorded over 28mm since midnight, in under an hour, on top of 30mm yesterday... and peak rain rate 268mm/hr!!

There's gunna be some serious flooding for this local area.. and I expect it will make at least the local news.

Edit: forgot to add I saw a few lightning flashes too, Blitzortung suggests there was over a dozen.

I'm currently out in my car temperature currently  reading  0.c. MB dropping noticed ppn 38miles  south of my mobile location. My location been staxton wold North Yorkshire. I'd be on the leading edge of any ppn and sat at 412ft asl.

The storm ppn seems to be taking a more northerly track going by raintoday.co.uk at 23:00hrs to current 01:00. I was expecting a North Easterly track.

I honestly thought some of the 18Z charts tonight were worse than 2013/14, could be recalling it wrong. Let us know in the morning!

When is Kent and Essex supposed to get the height of it?

Still dry here but icy wind increasing quite a noticeable windchill.

Raintoday intensifying ppn in some southern counties.

Guernsey Airport gusting to 71mph at 01z, had 84mph at Brignogan-Plages in far NW tip of Brittany earlier at 00z.

Angus may have a sting in its tail like a scorpion!

It's not as bad as anticipated at present, Chimet is only at 43 knots and the forecasts were in the 65 upwards range. I would think that with a change to SW this is not particularly remarkable when compared to the recent winters.............give it another couple of hours and things might change of course

Wild down here at the moment. The whole of our house is creeking with every gust and we've just had a torrential downpour. Seasonal to say the very least ...

Atherfield on the Island checking in here...  Rain stopped, winds moderately strong but not increasing further as yet.  Sea will be going wild tonight.

Oh forgot to mention I issued a storm forecast Saturday evening for a marginal risk of severe convective weather Sunday morning along southern coastal counties ... namely a low risk of a tornado or two, given highly sheared environment, and some instability, as we've seen across E Devon recently in the form of storms and some strikes appearing in the mid-E Channel now too.

Whew....just drove back home from South Bristol into South Gloucestershire. Atrocious conditions. Many of the A and B roads had surface run off flooding and rain is reducing visibility to almost nil....
