Sorry to start a new thread on what is a silly question, but does anyone remember the government appointing a minister of snow.  I believe it was  a labour government (Harold Wilson ?).  It was a particular heavy blizzard witch effected the west county.

Thanks Pete B

I think you may be getting confused with the appointment of a minister of drought during the summer of 1976, and it was John Callaghan who was prime minister then I think.. I'm not sure about winter 78/79, I think there was someone in charge of something to do with the cold weather - this being compounded by the dire political and economic climate at the time with mass strike action, rubbish not being collected, the dead unable to be buried etc..bleak times.

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
