[A Winter's Tale]

Steadily snowing and starting to settle. It looks like by far the earliest snow cover I've seen here.

Drove up from Glasgow over Rannoch Moor earlier tonight.  It was a bit snowy in places, the road was completely white in places so glad I got through when I did.

Not seen Norrance on here for a while but he and all others living in Dundee should be concerned about the upcoming winter since I've now moved to Broughty Ferry dragging my 6 year snow drought with me! ;-)

It's crazy how big of a difference there can be in the weather near the city centre, Riverside, out the Arbroath road to Broughty Ferry and Monifieth compared to the NW parts of the city. Places like Brackens, St Marys and Ardler are much higher up and further inland and are often like a winter wonderland in winter whereas the rest of the city has rain and sleet.

Been snowing pretty heavily here for a few hours now, maybe 3cm on the ground with cars struggling up the streets. Good times!!

Long time lurker so thought I would say hello. 

Mix of rain, sleet and snow here in Dunlop, East Ayrshire. Currently snowing moderately and now giving a covering.

Pretty snowy coming home from work in Greenock earlier. High roads over to Lochwinnoch were completely white.

Earliest snow I can remember for while. Not even got the winter tyres on yet!

Aye, Bishopton is little reflection on what's happening in the city itself, about a good 15-20 miles away. Anyway it's snowing down to near enough sea level in Glasgow and has been for a good few hours now.

light drizzle here....great to see the thread moving at a pace though and positive update over on MT by Fergie for the future prospects this winter 

[A Winter's Tale]

Easily the best snowfall I've seen this early in the season. It's just under half a cm which isn't overwhelming but the festive scene of most surfaces covered with steady flakes falling down from the orange, snow-filled sky, this passes for a satisfying snow event in any winter month, and surpasses anything which came out of a couple of previous winters. This is November 8th, barely over 6 months since the last snowfall, weeks away from the start of the meteorological winter, and considering only once have I seen a couple of flakes before mid November and only two previous years I've had settling snow in November, to have an unexpected event like this just a few days after bonfire's night is pretty amazing and an excellent start and hopefully a precursor to a decent winter.

Dry here and doesn't feel all that cold. A covering at my daughter's just to north of Glasgow a while ago as below.
