The roads were interesting at 5am this morning with the hail from last night's storm frozen onto the roads!

Haven't looked at the charts as I'm on mobile but chance of snow tomorrow morning for the south West scotland.

On the local BBC forecast down here they showed a large area of snow on Friday for the area that was meant to get a dumping in the last storm but didn't...(it will be forever named the CMD nostorm to me)

What's this about Friday? Do I need to do the rituals again?

Might as well, can't be any worse than the last time you did them

Didn't lie here really, but did on the hills. Going to be slippy out there the morn.

Good light show going off in Norway at present, comes and goes but very bright when it does.

Northern most members might get a glimpse later as well. Check if skies will be clear.

Lovely day in NE Fife. Managed 8c in the sun and felt pleasant in light winds. Slight frost this morning.

The next few days look very decent here, plenty of sunshine and mostly dry with some frost overnight.

Back in from taking the dog out on his bedtime walk. Sky clear to the horizon from NW-N-NE. No sign of aurora even after getting dark adapted. Solarham forecast looks better for tomorrow.

Low of -5c. A fresh covering overnight has covered any green that appeared after yesterday's sun and a high of 3c. currently -1c and looking like another bonnie day with patchy cloud

A low of -1.5C yesterday morning and -1.0C this morning under clear skies. Been a decent sunny couple of days and today has started the same. I'd be more interested in it if I wasn't sat in work.

Well that's us into meteorological Spring according to the BBC weather forecasters this morning so after a winter that appeared to show at least some promise as it started, it's really been rather boring, especially from a snow point of view. Not awful by any stretch of the imagination though as it has been dry and there were some notable frosts up this way early on.

Now that Spring is here though, what's the betting on ending the run of above average temps and below average rainfall. Probably just not quite cold enough for snow though. :wallbash:

Maybe an interesting day to come on Saturday for the borders and areas south of the central belt. It does appear to be marginal so elevation is likely to be key and the track of the low and positioning of the precipitation will no doubt change before Saturday but after a wintry mix pushing north towards the borders and southern Scotland on Friday, we then see another front pushing north through England and initially reaching southern Scotland as a wintry mix but turning more readily to snow as the front appears to stall with colder air undercutting from the north, with the front then gradually retreating towards the North Sea. Something to keep the interest and to keep a wee eye on.

Well as expected, the possible snow event on Saturday seems to have all but blown itself away, the front which I had mentioned stalling over southern Scotland with the cold air undercutting from the north... doesn't stall at all any more and instead blasts up through Scotland bringing wintry mushy rainy p*sh and maybe some snow for the highlands. However................

maybe, just maybe a wee surprise for Thursday evening?? Again it's southern Scotland and areas south of the central belt which look to be in the best position, and yes of course it's going to be very marginal yet again with decent elevation most likely being required. It has to be said though, Thursday evening does look like a meteorological mess on the charts lol.

Not totally lost hope on Saturday just yet, will keep a watching brief as the models appear to be all over the place at the moment which some drastic changes happening at relatively short notice.

Here's a quick glimpse of the possibilities for Thursday evening.

Lovely sunrises here at the moment. Combination of nice weather, no leaves on the trees yet, and snowdrops in full bloom. From the upstairs windae.

Frosty and breezy the morn.

well another house that fell thru.. and we go again this weekend as we head up to East Lothian to look at yet another house... this one according to my elevation check is 218m asl at the base of the Lammermuir Hills.. think this could be a good spot, only 11 houses in the small Hamlet so im guessing this and the height above sea level should give me a good chance of seeing snow during the winter months..
