We still have thousands of geese in the area and in the last few days they have decided that our neighbours wheat is the best of the new spring growth so they have levelled two big fields to bare earth. Need fuel for going north later this month.

Great afternoon for young Mr Northernlights  rolling  spring barley fields.20170402_170323.thumb.jpg.0abccd17c41d123a10a9ea2777cf9f27.jpg20170402_185530.thumb.jpg.db71c332087a5aebb5992477e8a69369.jpg

We always leave the bedroom windows open and at 4am I got up to an arctic gale belting through the house and the cat on my head!

Severe southerly gales this morning very unpleasant. Duststorms off the newly sown fields will be starting soon. Currently 12c

Horrible cold and windy earlier here, just eased this afternoon but by then I was in the huff and couldnt be bothered going outside. Plus the farmer is doing something out the back with a truly hellish smell and I had to shut all the windows and vents

Yes very windy here too, ground getting very dry. Very busy with the last of the sowing today,    cattle off to sale tomorrow this afternoon   and wintering sheep  back to Skye yesterday . Great to be  working in dry conditions but the dust is bit annoying. Currently  8c.

Taking advantage of the fine weather 20170406_130423.thumb.jpg.ae438b9030cbd38cbd7891bba1f3906a.jpg480 horsepower ploughing sowing and taking stones off to finish the last field  of spring barley where last years turnips were.

Cows out to grass field 20170406_130842.thumb.jpg.416f355b8b330ee06ff7baeb273d4805.jpgwhich is still very short but they had turnips and silage to eat and they were lying down later enjoying the sunshine.

It felt warm-ish today.  Mid afternoon in the sun, the temp rose to 15C, although it felt much cooler in the shade.

Nice cloudscapes this evening.

A lot warmer here today with the wind not nearly so bad, just a slight breeze. Wish it had been like this all week..

Went to North Berwick, wind was wee tiny bit chilly ealrier on but by afternoon it was really nice. Quite busy, lots of people and traffic,  and the yachts going into the water for the summer.

Absolutely cracking day (after a slightly cloudy start) but did cheer up quickly

Wall-to-wall sunshine today, albeit slightly hazy, but still there is a nagging, chilly SW breeze. It felt baltic at the Angus coast this morning.

Was briefly sunny this morning but pretty quickly clouded in and the rain's not too far away. Breeze picked up quite considerably

Well, yesterday was crackin - up to 18 C according to the car.

Today more hazy, but nice the morn and 14 C. Clouding over now.

Breezy both days, but still t-shirt weather!

Few phone pics from walks with the dugs; weather, flora and fauna etc.

Gorse is almost in full bloom and very fragrant to walk through at the moment.

Well I was down in London for a few days over the weekend with the wife and youngest, doing the whole touristy thing. Couldn't really have asked for better weather, especially for he time of year. Not a single spot of rain, very little cloud and temperatures into the low 20s Celcius both Sat & Sun, resulting in me breaking out the pair of shorts I'd luckily taken just in case. Amazing quite how many people were still walking around in multiple layers though, you could literally play 'spot the Scot' in the crowds i.e. the ones like me with bare, pale legs.

Back to work and weather normality now i.e. cloudy and around 10C here in Dyce this morning.

p.s. Fun as London can be for a few days, you couldn't pay me enough to live there permanently!

Yes went to London as youngster a lot  knew my way round the underground very well as an aunt stayed in Essex. Certainly prefer living up here nowadays.

Cool and blustery with intermittant rain at 8.5c feels very different to last week. catching up on some paperwork this afternoon.

Drive? Leave early or late and it would only be 6 hours or so.

My dad used to drive up every weekend, doing it in 4 1/2 but I obviously live < 30 from the border.

I do like London but would not want to live there.

Home counties yes but I'll never have the money for that

Husband wouldn't, he has no interest in going anywhere south of the border. Furthest I've been was York, for one day !

Cool but sunny. Temp currently 11C. The chilly NW breeze has dropped considerably during the morning.  Fine weather for planting out parsnips and pottering in the garden this afternoon.
