Seriously not amused. Scotland is obviously in the wrong place and we need to move it!

New Zealand would be nice lol.

Mostly bright today, temp in car reading +1.5C. A few white flakes now and again, settling on frozen ground. Breezy but not too bad, in all a pleasant winter's day. Dog a bit hyper in the brief snow showers.

More organised snow showers heading for Glasgow and Ayrshire over the next hour? Just in time for rush hour. I've watched that mass on radar since it formed ours ago and still seems to be of good intensity!

Liking the look of this. Been watching it and it looks a direct hit for my location.

Nice line of more organised precipitation coming down from the North now.  Could be nice for the commute home for those in NE.

At least everything is white, although was hail for most of it. Wasn't nice to be out in!

Temp went from 2.3c to 0.1c.

A pitiful amount but at least when it melts i won't be upset

Seems to be ahead of schedule too. Was hoping it wouldn't be as wife has parents night in Keith so looking as if her drive back down A96 might be interesting. at least she has my 4x4 today.

Edit: Actually looking at the WFR-NMM 6z precipitation forecast, this band might be a pre-cursor to the main band arriving around midnight.

Also, looking snowy on Traffic Scotland webcams up Dornoch way and on the road out to Ullapool.

Yes,  this is a different feature to the Low pressure (with its mild sector) tonight. Some interesting lamp post watching coming up.

Looks like the showers are in a direction where they will miss us now but already a ice rink outside

Got a call, heavy snow in Keith, parent's night cancelled, wife on way home. "Around and inch and a half" she said, but knowing her that'll likely be an overestimate.

Whats the snow chances tonight for west lothian?

Euro4 says poor for us both unfortunately. Met Office forecast seems to agree.

We now have about four inches of snow and it is still lightly snowing.

It's a bit odd here because in a few spots we've got maybe 8cm or so where the snow drifted last night (up against doorways, corners etc) but then only about 4/5cm so far on the ground.

Started with light to moderate snow in Dyce when I left work and on drive home. What I'd describe as a covering at home, but not enough to be measurable. Currently 0.3C so hopefully it'll not rise too much later as the main band, and warmer uppers, come through.

With dry roads the snow was lying but not sticking so the car in front was stirring up the snow in front of me. Quite pretty really in the headlights.

I believe that was my prediction for you ;-)

Yet to see so much as a single flake here yet, been dry all day.

About an inch here in Tarves.  Settling readily on roads and pavements.  Hopefully topped up by snow tonight!
