It should be an automatic revoking of his HGV license, no excuse for stupidity like that.

Weather...4C and blustery but nothing too severe. Lots of blue sky around but also some menacing clouds. If any of the showers on the weather radar do make it this far East I suspect we'll get a sleety mix at best for the moment. Thursday night still looks like the best bet fore here but I just long for the 'good old days' when you could expect a northerly in Jan to bring snow without all the 'will it won't it be rain/sleet/snow' rubbish.

Agree with Ravelin's last comment. In my younger days (!!!) you could be almost guaranteed snow from a N'ly. Just seems today's N'lys are short-lived, transient and often modified... if they appear at all, which is increasingly infrequently. Anyway, we'll see what transpires over the next few days.

Now that there is a lot more data - you can really see how striking that really odd +3.3C temperature increase was very early this morning......

Ignore the quote thingy above, it keeps coming back and I canny get rid of it. Wind picked up here a wee bit now and flurries of snow off and on, then sun.

Hover over it and click on the cross hairs thing that appears at the top left of the quote and then hit delete. :)

Strongest gust here 61 mph so far and after showers turning increasingly sleety later this morning we now have frequent hail showers which I can tell you from personal experience hurt like hell when you get caught in them:cold:

Just been out again to fill the bird feeders the poor wee boogers appear to be eating for Scotland today.  I'm trying not to get too excited about the prospect of snow as I live right on the shore but the little kid in me still ensures that I'll be lampost watching well into the wee hours:D

Very blustery here, blue skies and cloud scudding over at high speed. Very occasional sleet/hail showers. Not getting excited at the prospect of snow as I'll only be disappointed!

Been out with the dog and it's very windy but a few spots of rain mixed in. Not all that hopeful for much in the way of snow here.

Finally some showers have started turning sleety although surprisingly mountains still don't have very much cover

The closer we get to this 'event' the more I reckon I'll be lucky to see any lying snow. Current forecasts are a big downgrade on yesterday and apart from a short window overnight Euro4 doesn't show much for here! Standard westerly behaviour really so not sure why I let myself believe otherwise :D
