Charts are sumptuous but can still go very wrong very quickly...only +144hrs though :)

And there we have it, as close to a perfect full house as you'll ever see with the ECM joining in:

ECM is awful tonight?

Compared to its earlier runs, yes.

I would reply but I fear this would become like the dreaded MT

Well tonight's GFS has caused some head-scratching. Perhaps the mild weather isn't killing off the nits.  Seems likely that we'll at least get a brief chilly spell next weekend (I remember weekend being a feature last winter - or perhaps the one before), then it's all very uncertain. To be honest, confidence in forecasts more than a week out is never high...

We just got a few more sleety flurries today so it was good to see people's snowy photos on here again (and Norrance's waves :blink2: ) especially while fighting off this crap virus again.

Looking at long range forecast over next week or so an Easterly may develop as it mentions showers affecting Eastern Coasts but the usual confidence is low.. Anything beats Polar Maritime air mass downpour after downpour past few days with the strong winds not helping matters blowing these big showers well inland..

Joe B seems quite confident for cold/snow in western Europe according to his twitter ac.?  Be nice if he was correct:

Europe get ready, cause the train is coming. 1-6,6-11,11-16 may be alot of snow on the ground western Europe into UK in 11

Currently sunny and 6.5c still bits of snow hanging on in the usual shaded areas.Waiting for more?

Just saying to family after the bizzards on the A9 on Monday that it has been a long time since we had very strong winds and falling  snow at major road level even 2009/10 was notable for heavy snow falling in totally calm conditions. Maybe this year will be different epecially now the councils have so few snowploughs.

I see there's a Met-O weather warning for fog out for most of southern and central England. Nowt to do with us but has anyone ever seen a fog warning for anywhere in Scotland? I can't recall seeing one, maybe I've missed it?

No but then we're used to that sort of stuff.... My ears prick up at mention of haar on the radio, but that's not what you mean is it?

Been a cracking day here, watched it drift past in a drug and fever induced haze from my bed... I shall have nap No.3 soon...

Yeah we do sometimes get Met Office warnings for Fog - because the screensaver I wrote broke one year and it took me ages to figure out that it was because I hadn't included an image for Fog which was the current Met Office warning that was causing the problem.

(Not long after it broke again when they decided to issue warnings for multiple weather conditions in the same warning instead of separate warnings like they used to - commonly "Snow & Ice")

Know how you feel HC.  I'm off under the duvet soon too. - picked up some bug  from daughter and co at the end of last week .

It was, however,  a fine calm sunny day, although the temp was only 1C around 09.30 and car needed de-icing. .The snow is now confined to the higher, east/north facing  hill- tops,  and (as far as I'm concerned, at the moment ) it can stay there :).

Christ I forgot about the MTthing - it's all so technical in a sometimes very childish way there, I just wanted some  levity, but they kept squabbling about the data for hoursssss....

Drugs include small amounts of DHC and Ibuprofen... others will remain secret!

If this bug/virus thing starts off with a sore throat with cold like symptoms not far behind, it might prove a bugger to shift. Week 5 for me with this nonsense.

In other news, the Model thread seems to have gone pear shaped again in the last hour or so. Struggling to work out why.......

I've got an online pal in Arizona who says her husband is exactly like the dad in that film, I watched it last night and have to agree. But I don't feel like laughing about it because last night on the phone she said she has 16" of snow and its zero Fahrenheit.

I know Arizona gets snow and even has a couple of ski resorts but if she lives away from those resorts then 16inches is dam annoying lol
