Indeed, @CatchMyDrift, and a merry AATCHOO Crimbo :cray::cold::oops:- some wacky weather just for the next 36 hours, never mind what Santa has scribbled on the fireplace!

There's a weird piece on the Grauniad that conflates 2 entirely unrelated stories: 'crash closes M1 as storm conor heads for Scotland...' Is there a new m'way in Scotland or have we all been forcibly relocated to Hertfordshire (mongoose no please no home of thousands of ultrakippers)? Perhaps some geography might help Grauniad subbies?

Merry Christmas to all on the thread. I'm temporarily relocated to deepest Lancashire where it's mild and grey.

New Year continues to look interesting!

Morning Peeplings, and a Merry Christmas to all! 11.9c here and blawin' a hoolie! Very festive I don't think! Currently drowning under a sea of Christmas paper, choccies, whisky and gin, so the fat man in the red coat got it right! Have a great day all, and hope we might get a decent winter come the new year!

On my 3rd mug of 'more whisky than coffee'! Dreadful outside. Great inside! Love Christmas Day! So glad I stocked up on super glue though!

Said it earlier but have a great one folks :-)

Two hyper kids, two hyper cats, two slightly hungover and tired adults who were woken up at 5.30.

Windy, grey and mild.

Merry Christmas everyone :pardon:

Looks like we're trying out a Southern Hemisphere Xmas. 14.9C,dry and sunny outside.

Tomorrow though we are currently forecast for heavy snow showers and strong winds, so possibly blizzards. Problem is, we have to drive down to my parent in Airdrie late morning, then in evening to hotel at Glasgow airport for early flight on Tue morning. Could be an interesting drive.

Merry Christmas kiltie peeps :) Wild out, very windy and wet but at least the car is getting a wash. Snowy forecast for later. Hope Santa was good to you all. Had last night's left over desert for breakfast, it's definitely Christmas. Nice to see 2017 may kick off cold

Ho ho ho.

Wild here in the spey Valley. Some very strong gusts at times.

Just been in Aviemore and saw a great full rainbow. Phone and my poor photography skills doesn't do it justice. Couldnae get it in one shot either; too close to the pot of gold...

Thon chaps that go out in all conditions to fix the power really are legends, Christmas dinner is saved after the wind knocked the electricity off for a while, heralding some spectacular swearing from the kitchen

Load of washing hung out at 11, almost dry now. Temp down from 12C to 7C. Very gusty since early. Younger HCs busy in kitchen, smells good, no swearing - yet. Looking forward to seeing snow early tomorrow so that's jinxed it... :pardon:

I was out earlier with the youngest and despite it not being very 'seasonal' at all it was actually very pleasant. Wind had also gotten up so there were leaves flying everywhere. I posted a video earlier, in the wrong thread...

Don't know what we maxed out at,  usual problem of weather station being in direct sun. Down to around 10C now though and wind seems to have died down again.

Just popped out to go visiting - and discovered we needed coats and umbrellas!

Max 11.9, Min 7.8. Cur: 9.4 and only 1mm of rain - but as usual, if it's very windy - rain doesn't land in the rain bucket lol

Max gust recorded is 67 but I suspect it's a spike - majority of gusts sitting around 48mph

Edit: Actually the rain brought rather a temperature drop - down to 7.5 now.
