Leading edge will probably stall somewhere as low moves into North sea and somewhere could receive a good covering, probably favoured spots of West and South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire.

Nice trip out to the Yorkshire Dales today, still heavy snow showers blowing through with settling snow above roughly 200m.

Winds have backed SE, temperature from Leeds northward is at or below freezing.

Here in Huddersfield we have frost.

If it does snow it will lay instantly.  Unless the snow is really wet.

We have freezing fog here, black ice everywhere, LBA reporting 'light freezing fog'

Whatever ends up falling from the sky will freeze.

AROME model shows settling snow even to lower levels. Parts of Leeds might see accumulation - including my patch around Colton. I think the Aire Valley effect is rather exaggerated though.

Yep, heard a couple of deep rumbles too. Torrential rain here, drains overflowing and full of leaves. Great autumn weather!

Terrible conditions on roads for driving, I might have been better off coming home from work by boat. :D

Yeh heavy rain blocked drains due to lack of maintenance not the best of conditions. Stopped now but load of rain 36.2mm according to the Davis. Now that could be too high or two low as Davis isn't the most accurate when the rain gets heavy.

Had it all over the weekend. Spent it back up in Yorkshire for my sisters wedding. We had falling snow timed perfectly for the ceremony. Terrible weather today. Back south where it's a bit warmer now.

The rain over the north east right now has taken on a circular pattern not dissimilar to a mesoscale convective vortex rainfall radar picture
