You'd be laughing at your old spot Chris.

Manor Top/Crookes etc at 200m + was still sheet ice from yesterdays brief snowfall when I was up there this morning.

Looking at the temperature profiles it seems unlikely we'll see snow lying at low levels unless there is significant intensity to bring the temperature down.

Getting excited now for the rest of winter, if my location at 99m asl can get snow (big fluffy flakes) when was only forecast rain...i cant wait to see what keeps popping up over the coming weeks!

Bring it on!

Just looked out now, have a snow covering on cars etc, first snow since last Winter

All surfaces now covered must be colder than suggested and both BBC / METO only had less than 10% chance of PPN and rain as well

Doncaster area looks like the sweet spot, Leeds Bradford area looks like it's missed out on the heavier batch.

Friends in higher parts of Sheffield reporting decent coverings and roads affected (Stocksbridge, Grenoside etc). Typically 200m+ I'd say. Here in Ecclesfield (100m) we've had big flakes but nothing laying. Nice to see though and a great start!

Yeah, looks to have passed a bit east so wakefield and york better.

More coming though with a western overhang so we might stay in longer.

Varies from snow to icy sleet in the city center depending on intensity.

No covering here and now turned to more like sleet. The heavier bit just skirted us. Temperatures on the way back up so unless it gets heavier again it should turn to rain/sleet in most places away from the moors I reckon. Well the 2nd Snow event of the winter. Monday night into Tuesday now looks more like a rain event but may get some back edge snow on it which may leave a covering.
