Lets hope we can share the sweet spot!

Snow lighter here now but the band over Barnsley is making southward progress.

Morning guys and gals, so finally a weekend snowfest (potentially) is upon us. Radar showing that familiar mass of light snow moving west that preceeded the best part of Beast pt. 1 and the Met office update sounds good for at least 30 hours of fun, though I'm confused by the phrase "especially but not predominantly on high ground" ? Screenshot_20180317-055509.thumb.png.0a56109179251e578c21501e4f4e0bb3.pngScreenshot_20180317-055553.thumb.png.ed84347d8d833c9ffd37d2bcee654642.png

Well that's my night shift finished time for sleep..only a very light dusting of snow here in Gods own county of West Yorkshire ..and IMBY at Wakefield virtually zero snow with a current temp of 0.3 deg..?..to add insult to injury the BBC forecast has changed dramatically for the next two days showing virtually no snow bar the odd light shower!!..damn you BBC weather App!!..sort of goes massively against what folk on here were expecting ...?

The BBC app shows nothing for me too but the Met office app has constant snow and snow showers from 8am until 4am tomorrow. I ignore the BBC since they parted company with the Met office, they've been clueless!

Edit: hilariously, the BBC TV forecast shows heavy snow showers all day and all night for the whole region!

Few flakes coming down here in South Yorks, radar looking good to East.

Alot of these apps are useless with these easterly shower type setups. They have no idea until it's actually snowing half the time

Nothing of note bar the cold for mid march here icy with flurries of snow.  Not even a mm of snow cover.

Morning all  :)
I looked out at 6am and couldn't believe my eyes !
No snow ..  well, 5 graupel grains per square inch on my bin lid to be accurate.
In the last few mins we've had a heavier shower of fine snow grains.
About 50% cover now, blowing around in the strong, cold wind.
Lets see what the rest of the w/e brings.  I'm in the Amber warning area.

Well a fail last night as winter would say radar showing the showers pepping up so time will tell today. If you're lucky you may something of note or very little as showers turn into mini streamers.

Just a fine layer of icy pellets this morning. Radar looks interesting in North sea. Large lump of showers that look likely to affect North of region.

All looks to be to too far north of Leeds. Good for Newcastle mind.

Nothing here but that is not unusual, a spell of wet snow after midnight but not settling, temperature slowly drifting own, now on 0.4 C with dewpoint -3 C
