Yorkshire & E England Regional Weather Discussion

Recommended Posts

In 3 hours from now we should start to see the showers in the north Sea moving towards our shores on the radar.

Currently -1.4c here with a dew of -4.8c.

Current conditions across our region thanks to lots of amateur weather stations.

Wow - that was a seriously impressive Countryfile. Even without any frontal snow, Yorkshire gets smashed by continual snow showers Tuesday - Thursday. Friday’s low could be epic!

That one station that has the sensor inside...

Yeah, wouldn’t want to be in Whitby right now. Their snow chances are stuffed from the outset :-)

How did the midlands look mate!!

Snow showers on and off more frequent Tuesday compared to Weds for you. Drier Thursday ahead of low pressure giving you a very snowy Thurs night into Friday as the low interacts with the cold air in place.

Lol thats a faulty station, it said 40c the other day! Where in York are you? I lived in York during 2009 and 2010 and they were fantastic winters.

Got to agree Friday looked excellent for our region on the Countryfile forecast.

Rogue snow showers tomorrow + slight accumulations for some. The shower activity ramps up on Tuesday and Wednesday with bitterly cold temperatures before a drier slot Thursday before the low approaches...

Sounds like my thoughts a few pages back😂🤣

That's my favourite place for food and 8 or so pints of Stella lol.

It's lovely up there. I like it then I see tourists turn up in winter in a thin fleece and jeans and a rear wheel drive BMW.

They don't stop long. Lol

Sorry it' my sick sense of humour. Lol

Got a good chance in my opinion, Im just south of Malton and hoping for at least 20cm.

Nearly got a parking ticket in Thornton le Dale today on the way to Dalby. Didn't think there would be a parking attendant on a Sunday

Just moved here to start a career. Currently live on Fourth Avenue off Tang Hall road. I heard those Winters were cracking with similar synoptics as next week...holding out for a special one again!

Evening all. Some good posts tonight and boy is it cold out there. I've just driven home from my partner's in Scotland down the a68 and A1 across the tops and it was minus 3 at some points never above 1c. It's minus 1 here at home in Leeds. Anyone got the country file forecast before I traipse twitter.

Unfortunately, BBC weather are now useless. No snow showing on their website. The general public (not us) use their website to get an idea on the weather. If I was joe public, I would see that and think there was no risk of snow. The truth is, the risk is the highest it can be.

Photo of road past the Lion Inn on Monday 5th Feb, taken from the comfort of our Volvo XC60 AWD parked in the pub car park!  And yes, there were quite a few rear wheel drive cars and no I wouldn't have gone up there without the AWD! 😃
