Nothing measureable (as usual) here, but still a reasonable, if patchy covering. It has stopped now but stayed as snow throughout on the first band.

Still pretty cold though at 0.4C.

Rain?!  As soon as it is too 'warm' to snow a ruddy great band of heavy stuff moves across our region!  :wallbash:

Been snowing in Bempton since just after 2pm. Hasn't turned to rain, but it's really only a covering, 1cm would be almost exaggerating.

Got a picture at dusk but it won't post from my tablet for some reason, I'll post it from my laptop after tea

Taken at just after 4pm. Grey, light snow, with just a covering.

Bored of this winter snow then a melt a few hours later.

Agreed.  I have not had any snow that has lasted more than 24-48 hours and nothing more than an inch or so since March 2013.

Oh well.  Our time will come again one day!

Morning all,
I was surprised to wake to my meagre snow covering largely still there and

dangerously icy.   Was thinking it would have all melted away overnight.

aaaah it was so nice to not have to defrost the car this morning and to be able to get the kids to school without cra*pping myself driving on ice.

Think i am now ready for spring and summer. This winter has given us snow at least but nothing noteworthy or lasting, Fingers crossed for next winter, but for now i think im done with this winter :)

You will be hoping the latest GFS ensembles are wide of the mark then as it looks like we are about to play another round of the popular game called 'Chase The Easterly'!  :D

Some really cold runs starting to show up in FI probably colder than we have seen all Winter!   :cold:

Morning all  :)
At 6.30am we had a cracking little thunder-storm.
Torrential rain and c. half a dozen flashes and booms.
Best for years I'd say.

* I couldn't find a thunder storm thread generally .. is there one ?

Cheers,
B.

Had some hail and snow here in East Morton this morning.  Travelled to Huddersfield on the train.  Trying to snow in Huddersfield centre.  Few cars have snow on them driving past.

Here's the start of a new spell of hopefully longer lasting cold!

i can report snow falling in North Sheffield. Changing to hail now. It's surprisingly heavy and has given a slight covering in parts (hail covering)
