Very surprised to get a light dusting at High Hunsley this morning on the Wolds ( with a bit of altitude )

Further down in Newbald it was wet sleety slushy stuff just on car windscreens.

fab start to winter, waking up to a covering of snow and it still falling!

Wasn't expecting it, so was a lovely surprise. Kids were really giddy until they found out it isn't enough to close the school

6cm here.

But had to visit a neighbouring farm earlier and they are 100m higher and more exposed yet they have only about 2-4cm's, guess due to the direction etc with the way it fell.

Over the past couple of years Leeds seems the hot spot for snow well West Yorkshire. Still coming down here in Bradford.

Well I've had rain, sleet and snow this morning which settled temporarily around 7am, quickly melted though!

Nearby villages in the Howardian Hills to my NW with high elevation saw an inch or two this morning.

After that I drove to the Yorkshire Dales where there was around 6 inches above 350m, came back via Sutton Bank in the North York Moors where there was around 3 inches of snow.

Here's some pics:

Howardian Hills above 150m:

Nice to see some areas got some early snow. As usual we just had rain here. I just hope it isn't another winter watching the usual areas inland and with elevation get pasted while we miss out.

It will be 4 years in January since we had any measurable lying snow. Hopefully we dont reach that rather milestone!

Nothing of note here bar early snow for November so can't grumble. Moors got a covering but the snow line pretty high up.

Certainly a victory for Leeds this one. Forecast didnt go as planned at all really. Its frustrating but I cant be dissapointed. had a little covering up here and that was it. Not bad though for 9th November!!!  Good to see Yorkshire in the snow again :D:cold:

So will we be 'going again' towards the end of the week and into the weekend given the predicted drop in temperature and wintry weather that has been forecast?

Possibly more of a higher ground scenario this time around but nice to get a bit of seasonal weather before the start of winter proper regardless!
