31.6c max here and I'm not far from Donny airport really so good to know the Vue is working lol!

Had a few heavy spots of rain around 5pm but it came to nothing and passed over unfortunately.

Feels very tropical out there though so let's see what tomorrow brings storm wise...

Just started pouring here, real cloudburst for a few minutes, a few flashes of lightning and thunder has been rumbling for the last hour. Wife got this picture.

We finally got some decent rain here in North Lincs. Dark clouds and thunder rolled in late afternoon and by teatime we got a good 10 minutes of very heavy rain followed by another 10 mins of light rain.

Been an odd week. We hit a high of 34.3c on the 23rd but since then it has been cooler (relatively speaking), often quite breezy mid afternoon and quite cloudy. Not had that much clear blue sky this week at all. It has looked like rain a few times but not delivered. Glad we finally got some.

Morning local folks  :)

Thunder and lightening and a few mins of small hail here since 5.30am.
Almost constant rolls of thunder around.
At last the welcome rain !
See what today and tonight brings.

Typical, I just woke up to be told that my wife and kids have been up half the night due to the most thunder and lightning they've seen in years. I slept like a log through it all. Apparently it has been torrential/heavy rain for hours here.

Could be my imagination but the previously brown lawn seems to be a little greener this morning

Usually there is some green stuff among the brown which is wilted but not dead so does recover in a few hours.
In any case the crowns do put up new shoots remarkably quickly, it will be sparse for a week or two though.

Can smell smoke here this morning but nothing obvious close by.
Yesterday we had lightning strikes but no rain which was worrying for fire risk.

Been thundering just to the east of my house this morning and I've just driven through an absolute deluge on the Sheffield parkway!

Fingers crossed for a fun thunder filled day

Yes, my wife confirmed it was not my imagination. She took a photo of lawn two days ago and it is significantly greener this morning. We had a torrential downpour yesterday at about 5pm in addition to the inch of rain that has fallen overnight. So the lawn has been soaking for 14 hours. Still amazing to see how fast it can recover.

More important to my wife however is the fact her veg garden has got a good soaking. She has really struggled with it this year. Crops that she has done well with for many years have failed this year. Her only real success has been with her crops of hot chilli peppers, sweet peppers, carrots, potatoes and greenhouse salad. All the peas, beans, squash, pumpkin and onions have struggled.

Was rumbling and the odd flash of lightning at home from about 5am, looks like there will be some big storms this afternoon on the east coast. Haven't seen 'severe thunderstorms' on the storm forecast over our location for a long time.
In Malton now and it's rumbling around here as well.

Succession of cells have rattled through here this morning. Every time I thought it was going to clear up, it darkens again with another bout. Not much rain, but plenty of explosive thunder.

Just been for a walk.  Truly roasting out there this afternoon.
Therm' reading of 30.3 ° C just now and climbing.
Also alive with Thrips . After night harvesting they are everywhere.
Storms could be very lively later.

Just got back from Scarborough, it's 29 at home which is about the hottest since we've lived at Bempton, usually on the coast it's a bit cooler. We had the thrips Sunday, we seem to get them for a day or two every year.

Storm over York this morning were impressive according to my wife who was in York this morning. Trains through York were badly disrupted due to lightning strikes.

Hoping for some good storms tonight and cooler tomorrow.

I'm sure there is some sort of storm field in Bridlington every time the storms get here they die off

Sat at home in Bempton and just heard a couple of rumbles that sounded like thunder, checked the radar and the nearest is I would have thought too far away to hear.

I think these storms are mostly going to be east of leeds :(

Yes, they definitely are. York getting hit again - could see the tower from here. Shame that everything isn't just a bit further west.
